If you own a VR (virtual reality) headset, there's currently only one major live cam site offering VR enabled live broadcasts. In the past, several of the major cam sites experimented with VR, but only one deemed it a viable option - and that was Stripchat. While the technology is still in its infancy, improvements are in the works in order to upgrade the experience and ensure VR becomes a staple of any great live cam experience.
Stripchat is currently the only cam site featuring VR enabled rooms. There are generally around 15-30 online virtual reality live streams 24/7, with private rates for them coming in at around $2.00 a minute.
The difference between a regular live video chat show and one that uses VR technology is that the viewer can move around the room and choose what they want to look at. While most of us assume virtual reality provides a 360-degree scope, it is, at least in most live cam rooms, more likely a 180-degree view. Most models link two or more live cams up, which then merge their images providing a much wider viewpoint than one single static webcam.
Stripchat makes it extremely easy to search for VR rooms. On the homepage, the left menu bar features a selection of search categories including specific genres such as femdom cam shows and mature cam model shows. There's also a dedicated group highlighting the VR cams only. Even without using this search tool, you can quickly come to the VR options. They're not only featured in a separate grouping of snapshots on the homepage's gallery of online models, but all photos feature a small VR icon on the bottom left of a model's preiew photo.
Even if a model is VR enabled, that doesn't mean you need a VR headset to enter their live video chat rooms or even start a private show. In addition to VR capabilities, most also have HD streaming capabilities, as well as SD broadcasts. It's an option as opposed to a requirement.
If you do decide to enter a private 1on1 VR session, make sure you've downloaded the required software to sync your headset with the broadcast feed. Viewers using a Windows platform need to download Gizmo VR, Steam VR or Oculus. If you're on a Android device, you'll need to have downloaded Gizmo VR, Cardboard, Daydream, GearVR of Oculus Go.
